NYSAFLT
The New York State Association of Foreign Language Teachers has
become the undisputed leader of language activities in New York
State and a driving force of national status in the profession.
The Annual Meeting is only one of many activities and functions
sponsored by NYSAFLT. The Association also sponsors, alone or in
conjunction with local and other State organizations, regional
workshops, an annual colloquium, a summer institute, and other
meetings as the needs of the membership require them. The
Association keeps its members abreast of the latest events and
techniques and summarizes many of the formal presentations
through its Journal and Newsletter and on its website. It
provides job information with its Placement Service and works to
further foreign language education through constant interaction
of its Officers, Board of Directors and Standing Committees with
the State Education Department. In addition, regional meetings
of the Association are held throughout the state to respond to
local needs and interests. The Annual Meeting will be held at
the Clarion Hotel and Rochester Riverside Convention Center in
Rochester, NY. The three days of panels and workshops,
demonstrations, exhibits, speeches and awards are the
culmination of a year of planning by the Annual Meeting Planning
Committee and reflect the general trends, interests and needs of
the foreign language teachers of New York State.
CAES
CAES is a not-for-profit professional organization of teachers
and professors of ancient Latin and Greek, which seeks to
advance interest in, and the study of the classical languages
and civilizations in the schools and colleges of New York State.
CAES also strives to meet the professional needs of all teachers
of the classical languages. One way of meeting these needs is
through the annual CAES institute, which meets every fall.
