Languages: Connecting Students to the World

Conference Dates: October 12 - 14, 2007
Conference Location: Rochester, New York

This year's joint Annual Meeting held by NYSAFLT and CAES is an opportunity to present and discuss workshops, applied research, and important issues in foreign language education. The event gives NYSAFLT members and affiliated professionals a chance to share ideas, hear from experts, see the latest products, network, and socialize!

A Message from Conference Chairperson Sue Hochmuth

The Planning Committee and I would like to welcome you to NYSAFLT’s 90th Annual Meeting, to be held in conjunction with our good friends from the Classical Association of the Empire State. Much hard work and preparation has already taken place to make the upcoming conference a memorable one. Our venue this year is the lovely Clarion Riverside Hotel adjacent to the Convention Center in downtown Rochester, NY. Our theme for this year is “Languages: Connecting Students to the World” and Carol Bellamy, will be our keynote speaker. Ms. Bellamy is currently President and CEO of World Learning, President of the School for International Training, Former Executive Director of UNICEF, and Former Director of the United States Peace Corps. Come and enjoy a weekend filled with interesting and informative workshops, opportunities for professional growth, and the collegiality of your fellow language teachers from around the state. Mark your calendar for October 12 – 14, 2007 and join us for a fun-filled, yet educational experience. Please contact me with any suggestions, ideas, or questions that you might have for the 2007 Annual Meeting. See you in Rochester and please be sure to invite all your colleagues!

Sincerely,

Sue Hochmuth
